Wedding Décor Ideas

wedding decor ideasYour wedding is the most special day of your life. Naturally, you want it to go along perfectly. Whether you rent décor for the day or make it, it should exude your personality and have a bit of your personal touch.

Some wedding décor ideas are as follows:

Lighting

Why not turn off the lighting at the ceremony and use candles? Is there anything nicer than a candlelit ceremony? There may be an extra charge for this as the church may require insurance, but it is worth it.

Candlelight ceremonies are usually performed on Christmas Eve in Christian churches. Each guest gets a taper candle with a holder that grabs the wax. They light the candle and candles are lit throughout the church. The result is illuminating and very romantic.

Fairy lights can also be used to decorate the hall where you are having your reception. Fairy lights are those white, twinkling lights that adorn Christmas trees each year. You can get a large net of these lights to cover the ceiling of the hall where you are having the reception. For added drama, cover it with material, like a tent. This can be a bit costly, but will really add a cozy feel to the wedding reception.

Lighting should not be overlooked when you are thinking about wedding décor ideas.

Flowers

Flowers are usually at the church, in front of the church and in the hands of the bride and bridesmaids. The groom will usually wear a flower in his lapel and so will the groomsmen. The groom may wear a white flower and the groomsmen will wear carnations that match those of the bridesmaid dresses. This is just traditional.

Flower petals can be scattered on the floor by the flower girls. At the reception, flowers once again come in to play. They may cover the wedding arch, if it is an outdoor wedding. They may also adorn the tables as centerpieces. These flowers can be made of either fresh or silk flowers, but should mirror those flowers carried by the bride and her party.

Brides traditionally carry white flowers, but any color will do today. You can even scatter flower petals on the tabletops at the reception.

If you are having an Autumn wedding, you may want to choose dried flowers. A spring wedding will entail fresh flowers such as tulip petals and other soft spring flowers.

Tablecloths

Tablecloths should be on every table at the wedding reception as well as the bridal table, which is usually a large, long table. There are options now to cover the seats as well. This usually costs a bit more money, but is worth it. Some halls actually throw this in as part of the deal. Tablecloths are traditionally white, but can be any color that you choose, although you may have to rent different colored table cloths from a party supply place as halls will generally have only white.

Outside Weddings

Outside weddings usually entail renting an enclosed tent as well as a bridal arch. Chairs are usually not covered and the same chairs can be used (and quickly set up with tables) for the reception. In the summer, many people choose to have outdoor weddings, which are very romantic and surprisingly, inexpensive.
