Outdoor Wedding Decor

outdoor wedding decorIf you are getting married in the late Spring, Summer or early Autumn, you may be planning an outdoor wedding. If you live in the Southern states where the climate is nice all year long, you can plan an outdoor wedding at any time. Outdoor wedding décor should reflect nature as this is the most charming and natural of all weddings.

You can have your entire wedding outside, including the reception. While some people choose one or the other, you can do it all in one space if you have a large enough venue. If someone in the family has a large yard, this can be the perfect place to stage your outdoor wedding.

Some ideas for outdoor wedding décor are as follows:

Wedding Arches

If you are getting married in a Jewish ceremony, you can expect to get married under a canopy as part of the tradition. However, there is no law that says that you cannot incorporate part of this charming tradition into your outdoor wedding décor even if you are not having a Jewish ceremony. You can have a canopy or a wedding arch where you and the groom stand beneath and take your vows.

You can also incorporate a wedding arch into other outdoor wedding décor. You can choose it as the entryway for the bridal procession. The entire bridal procession can come up the aisle through the wedding arch.

Balloons

Balloons can be used as centerpieces or as part of the outdoor wedding décor. White balloons can be placed in strategic places throughout the ceremony and then let loose in the air once the couple is finally wed. Personalized balloons can be made to state the name of the bride and groom and the fact that they were married that day and let off into the air. There have even been people who stuffed dollar bills into balloons and released them with the name of the bride and groom for luck to whoever found the balloon.

Flowers

Flowers are part of any wedding ceremony, usually. You can not only incorporate flowers into your outdoor wedding décor in the natural way, but if you are getting married in a garden, the flowers will be part of the natural landscape. Flowers are the ideal setting for any wedding ceremony.

Bubbles

Many people use those bubble wands and bubbles that the kids play with during wedding ceremonies to add a bit of fun to the outdoor wedding décor. Bubbles are fun for people of all ages and do not harm the environment.

Birdseed

Instead of tossing rice at the bride and groom, many people are tossing birdseed. This is just as effective and will not harm the birds. In fact, the birds will be quite pleased to partake in their fair share of the wedding feast after everyone has departed.

Citronella Candles

If you are having an outdoor wedding in the summer, make sure that part of your wedding décor includes citronella candles to keep away pesky mosquitoes. Many people opt for a closed tent for this reason, but having a wedding under the stars is romantic, as long as you are not getting bitten by bugs.

A wedding under the stars. Nothing is more romantic than an outdoor wedding. Make sure that yours also includes the perfect outdoor wedding décor.
